Why do we want to help you talk to your doctor about pain?
Since we can’t be there in person with you right now to hear your whole story and offer you support, we want to give some tools that will help you to start assessing your situation in a little more detail.
We know sitting in front of the computer can be a draining experience, so if you’ve read this far, we want to give you a gift to take with you. The guide “Talking with your Doctor about Pain” and its companion pain journal.
For most people, the first place they go when they start having pain is their doctor’s office. Sometimes this is helpful, but many times it is incredibly frustrating. Over the years, we’ve heard so many people say that their doctor just doesn’t take the time to listen to them. They feel rushed when they are at the appointment, and forget important details that might help their doctor get to the bottom of their pain. To make matters worse, many doctors don’t know about all the options out there for treating chronic pain, and tend to focus solely on managing the pain with medication.
And it can be really hard to discuss your pain with anyone if you haven’t gotten really clear on how it is affecting you. You know it hurts, you know it is sucking up your energy, but you haven’t had a format to really look at how it changes throughout the day and week, what triggers it, and what activities are most limited by your pain.
Our guide to talking to your doctor about pain, together with our pain journal, can help you gain a better understanding of your pain, and get the most out of your next doctors appointment.
After that, we’ll continue to send you our monthly newletter, filled with tips and techniques to navigate your way to a life with less pain and a great relationship with your body.
And don’t worry, we don’t like having our mailbox filled with useless junk either. We promise to do our very best to be sure our newsletter is worthy of the space it takes up in your inbox, and if its not, we make it easy for you to unsubscribe at any time. We never, ever sell or give away our email list.
